Keishia Facey’s commitment to dismantle anti-Black racism meets at the intersections of social justice, Black joy, empowerment, and healing.

Keishia is passionate about building community and relationships and is driven by her belief that equity deserving communities have the right to live their best lives free from oppression. Her knowledge and depth of expertise has contributed to the strategic direction, thought leadership, advocacy for and awareness of anti-Black racism, equity, inclusion, and social justice in her community of Durham Region, ON and internationally.

Keishia is a sought-after international speaker, guest lecturer, facilitator, and consultant. She has collaborated with various communities, youth, families, civic and business leaders within the education, child welfare, criminal justice, municipal, and healthcare sectors to address anti-Black racism, anti-racism, and mental health. She has also developed courses, and created and implemented strategic plans to embed diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.

In 2022, Keishia was listed as one of the 100 Accomplished Black Canadian Women for her social, educational, political, and professional accomplishments.

Keishia holds a BA in Sociology and a MA in Public Policy, Administration and Law, both from York University.

The Riddim Cultural Arts Program is a community based program that teaches children from the African and Caribbean diaspora about their roots, culture and the importance of Black joy! Contact us to learn more and for sponsorship opportunities.
Established in 2014, Riddim Fitness is a community-based program and space that focuses on the health, wellness, and empowerment of women through fitness. In 2018, Keishia was awarded the Community Building Achievement Award for her perseverance and innovation in creating Riddim Fitness IncTM.
OACAS provides advocacy and government relations, public education, training, information and knowledge management, and communications services to support positive change to the Ontario child welfare system.
Led by the African Canadian community, OVOV addresses the overrepresentation and experiences of disparities faced by African Canadians after coming into contact with the child welfare system.
